What is Cleveland Boat Cruise?

Cleveland Boat Cruise is based out of the Rocky River area and offers two-hour cruises with Captain Ray; a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain. Experience beautiful views of downtown Cleveland cruising up the Cuyahoga River and see the city skyline from Lake Erie.  Depending on lake and weather conditions your pickup point will be either in the Rocky River or the Cuyahoga River. 

What kind of boat will I be on?

Cleveland Boat Cruise runs a 26-foot fiberglass Formula Sun Sport named “Surge”.  The boat is white with gold and blue trim with a Merc Cruiser engine and comfortably seats up to six passengers.  On board are seven adults Type 1 U.S. Coast approved life jackets and two child Type 1 U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets.  “Surge” passed a U.S. Coast Guard safety check and is compliant with all state and federal regulations. 

How much does it cost?

Two-hour cruises are $325. 

How can I book a tour? 

Go to the booking page on the web site.  You can also email Captain Ray at captainrayd@outlook.com  If you are looking for a last minute booking and want to see if the boat is available you call or text Captain Ray at 216-536-9603.

How many passengers are allowed?

Up to six passengers are allowed on “Surge”.

Are infants and children allowed on board?

Up to two children six-years or older are allowed on “Surge”.   Sorry, but toddlers and infants are not permitted. 

Where can we board the boat?

Cleveland Boat Cruise can pick up at two locations.  Either the Emerald Necklace Marina boat launch ramp in the Metroparks Rocky River Reservation in Lakewood or in downtown Cleveland next to the Flat Iron Café at the Heritage Park boat docks on the Cuyahoga River.

Are waivers required?

Yes, all passengers must sign a waiver and show a photo ID before boarding.

Can I bring my own food and beverage?

Yes.  Beer, wine and hard seltzers are permitted in cans.  Glass bottles and hard alcohol is not permitted.  Feel free to bring snacks and sandwiches on board.  Coolers with ice are provided.  There is no smoking or vaping allowed on the boat.

Can we jam out to tunes? 

Sure thing!  You can connect your phone to the blue tooth stereo system.

Is there a bathroom on board?

No, but there is a porta potty in the cuddy cabin.  Captain Ray recommends going to the bathroom before leaving the dock.

What happens if the weather is bad or Lake Erie is too rough?

Your money will be refunded unless you want to try booking a cruise on another day.  Captain Ray can cancel a cruise if he deems conditions for boating are not safe.
